Two key prayers for life...

Yesterday, Fr José pointed out to us the two main prayers that we have to make in life—“thank you” and “help me”. And both of these can be found in the Lord’s Prayer (no surprise).

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” We should constantly thank the Lord for the awesome gift of creation. We should always thank God for the gift of life. We should always thank God for the gift of the Cross and the gift of the Resurrection. What are you most thankful for?

Also, we should always ask God to help us. “Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us or our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” We cannot make it through this life without God. We cannot become holy without God. We cannot fully understand what it means to be human without God. What do you need the most help with today?
